Defending Your Life (1991)

IMDB

Albert Brooks writes, directs and stars in this comedy (possibly of the romantic variety) about what happens when you die. Obviously, you have to go before a group of judges and have to defend your life. If they rule that you still have fear you are sent back to Earth and reincarnated.
Things are complicated for Brooks when he starts having feelings for Meryl Streep. Brooks' character is obviously being sent back to Earth and Streep is clearly going to heaven.
Defending Your Life is a great little comedy. It has heart and is extremely funny. I'm a fan of Albert Brooks. I love his work on The Simpsons. This movie has a similar type of humor as The Simpsons (the first couple seasons).

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
