Sanjuro (1962)
Directed by Akira Kurosawa
Written by Ryûzô Kikushima, Hideo Oguni & Akira Kurosawa
IMDB
The master samurai stumbles into a clan who is fighting against a dirty superintendent. One of the clansmen's uncle has been kidnapped and the samurai decides to help them get him back and lead them in a fight against the corrupt superintendent and his army.
Kurosawa's sequel to Yojimbo is more action-packed and maybe even funnier than the original. Toshirô Mifune is awesome as the cool masterless samurai. This movie is a little shorter than Yojimbo and features way more slice-and-dice, which is fine by me. The end is especially cool.
10/10
