Jeff Bridges stars as Bad Blake, a washed up alcoholic country singer. He meets a reporter (Maggie Gyllenhaal) who he starts dating. He enjoys playing with her young son, but cannot stay away from the drink. He is looking for redemption but cannot face his own demons.
I decided not to spoil the movie for the several people who might read this. This is a very good movie and worth a watch. Jeff Bridges acts his ass off. Jeff Bridges is basically the reason to watch this film. The story is fine and the directing is actually pretty fantastic, but sort of indie-ish (which I mean as a good thing, not an insult). It's just different than your usual movie, but when the usual movie is shit made for a quick buck then that's a positive thing. Watch this.
