I recently purchased the "Pulp Fiction" DVD. One of the extras on it is an appearance from Quentin Tarrantino on "The Charlie Rose Show." During this interview he discusses this film and meeting the producer (possibly the writer/director) and describes it as "The Cohen bros. doing a slasher flick." So, naturally I had to see it.
The first thing that got me about this film was how good the camera work was for a low-budget piece. Some of the angles and shots are really inspired. Really good stuff.
The plot: a grocery store is about to go out of business. The night the manager tells the crew this, a mysterious string of murders occur in a slasher-like fashion. A cashier's ex-boyfriend shows up before the murders begin and he is the main suspect.
The story is fine. The camera work is fantastic. Dan Hicks is awesome as the owner (spoiler)gone insane. Ted Raimi and Bruce Campbell both show up in small parts. What is not to love, really? This is very worth checking out and is streaming on Netflix!

7.5/10

Rating Scale Explanation

The rating scale is simple. 1 is the worst 10 is the best and 5 is mediocre. 5.5 or greater is a movie that I at least find enjoyable. You could also think of 5 as a zero and 1 as a negative 5. I feel like that sounds even more convoluted.
